Short Course – Milano

The Japanese artist, Mr. Shingo Sato, creator of the “TR Pattern Cutting” technique, in collaboration with Ferrari Fashion School will hold 3 courses of 2-3 days each (TR Cutting Beginners, TR Cutting Advanced and  Origami Workshop), at our School in Milan.

During the course he will show his innovative technique for 3D pattern-making, which is creative and inductive for prototyping patterns, halfway from the draping and the classical pattern-making.

The students will be taught how to create new 3D patterns directly working on the mannequin, starting from ready-to-use bases. “TR” stands for “Transformational Reconstruction”, showing the process that the garment goes through when being created.

TRC Beginners + Advanced Package: €1.000,00

 

All the fees include Enrolment February 8th – 10th fee and VAT.

They also include teaching material, such as mannequins, sewing machines, stationery. Commodities is excluded. All participants will received a list of all the material to purchase for the course.

ADMISSIONS AND ENROLMENT

The courses are dedicated to who has at least 18 y.o., students or professionals in the fashion field, pattern-makers, tailors or simple enthusiasts who want to deepen and specialize in the TR Cutting technique and learn the secrets and design methodology of this particular technique, working together with a very talented and internationally known artist.

 

It is possible to enroll in only one course or more than one, if the applicant matches the requirements.

The number of seats in the class are limited. We kindly suggest to enrol in advance to book the seat in the classroom.

The course will start when the minimum number of students is reached.

At the end of the course a Certificate of Attendance will be issued.

TARGET

The Advanced Course is dedicated to those who have already completed the basic course and are willing to specialize in learning new advanced transformation techniques.

Origami Workshop instead illustrates the methodology of design, development and realization of garments and details with origami technique according to the TR Transformational Reconstruction technique used by the master Shingo Sato.

All participants must own basic knowledge and skills in sewing and autonomy in using the sewing machine.

EDUCATIONAL GOALS

The main purpose of the course is to learn the design techniques and development methods of this innovative 3D pattern-making technique to develop increasingly original and creative patterns, where construction, form and volumes play key-role.

STUDY PLAN

BEGINNERS COURSE PROGRAM (3 DAYS):

Day 1

from 9.00am to 12.30pm – from 2.00pm to 5.30pm

Technical presentation, realization on the meta-base (sewing practice and eTR basic process) exercise on the skirt (volumetric integration) TR basic draping

Day 2

from 9.00am to 12.30pm – from 2.00pm to 5.30pm

Technical presentation, realization of TR draping twisted, band integration, origami pocket, Box integration, “balloon technique”.

Day 3

from 9.00am to 12.30pm – from 2.00pm to 5.30pm

Technical presentation, realization of sleeve transformation, origami technique, multiple creations, TR Transformational Reconstruction techniques.

STUDY PLAN – ADVANCED COURSE (3 DAYS):

Day 1

Presentation and technical implementation, exercises “BOX Integration”, “Advanced Vortex Tecnique”.

Day 2

from 9.00am to 12.30pm – from 2.00pm to 5.30pm

Presentation and technical implementation of TR draping “Trompe l’oeil” Tecnique, Reticular Origami and seamed Tecnique

Day 3

from 9.00am to 12.30pm – from 2.00pm to 5.30pm

Technical presentation, multiple creations, TR Transformational Reconstruction techniques.
