Marialuisa Liuzzi

Marialuisa Liuzzi, lecturer and fashion designer, with a solid academic background and a long professional path in the fashion industry, has developed over the years skills that combine design, pattern-making, and bespoke garment construction. After graduating from Art High School, she continued her studies with a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Science and Technology at the University of Bari, building a comprehensive vision of the creative and production processes in apparel.

She enriched her profile with numerous specialized programs: from a pattern-making course at Ferrari Fashion School to 2D and 3D CAD pattern-making courses, and further studies in textile craftsmanship with the course “Artisan of Handmade Textile Products.” She also attended significant seminars and workshops, such as “Materia e Forma in Sbieco” by the Roberto Cappucci Foundation, advanced workshops by Shingo Sato – TR Cutting, and the watercolor workshop with artist Elizabeth Aro, which allowed her to explore the connections between technique, form, and artistic research.

At the same time, she continued her professional growth working in two tailoring ateliers in Puglia, where she refined her skills in altering and constructing prêt-à-porter garments and applying traditional tailoring methods. This hands-on atelier experience helped consolidate precision, craftsmanship, and knowledge of the processes that define garment quality.

For eight years, she has been a lecturer at Ferrari Fashion School, guiding students through the entire process of designing and developing a garment: from fashion illustration to pattern creation, and finally to garment construction. Her teaching approach combines technical rigor with attention to artisanal detail, aiming to train professionals capable of approaching fashion design with awareness, creativity, and method.
