Geny Iorio

Geny Iorio is a designer and lecturer in the field of Textile Design, with a design practice focused on textile research, materials, and transformation processes applied to fashion and contemporary design. Her work concentrates on exploring textile surfaces and material qualities through folding, weaving, and texture construction techniques, often developed from a critical reinterpretation of traditional craftsmanship in a contemporary key.

Alongside her design work, she has built a structured academic path as a lecturer at important Milanese institutions. She teaches Metaproject at Politecnico di Milano, Textile Design 1, 2, and 3 at NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, where she has also co-taught with designer Romeo Gigli, guiding students through a process that combines research, material, and design. She is a lecturer in Narrative Textile at IED – Istituto Europeo di Design and teaches Pattern Making, Textile, and Textile Culture at Ferrari Fashion School.

Throughout her career, she has served as Creative Director of Minina Studio and collaborated with companies and entities in the textile and fashion sector such as Miroglio Textile, Mantero 1902, and Atelier Colomba Leddi. Her work integrates research, conceptual development, textile experimentation, texture making, graphic design, and pattern making, translating design ideas into material systems and practical applications for the creative industry.
