Alberto Pelayo is an Image Maker and Art Director specialized in enhancing brand narratives through the creation of limitless concepts and imagery. Using photography as his canvas, every story he tells becomes an opportunity to imagine worlds full of possibilities and realities that can exist within his vision. He achieves this by combining techniques such as retouching, technology, perspective play, and studio work.
Originally from Mexico, Pelayo moved to Milan at the age of 23, where what started as a hobby became his profession. Passionate about cinema, fairy tales, contemporary art, the sensual and well-defined female silhouette, and madness as a pathology, Alberto combines his Product Design training with an artistic foundation developed since childhood through painting. This unique blend of influences allows him to create images driven by the mission to tell meaningful stories.
“I don’t consider myself a photographer; I build images. I like to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, sometimes inspired by metaphors, but always narrating reality through my eyes. Irony and depth are key elements of my messages, especially in personal projects, where I often reflect on experiences I have lived — experiences I know others have lived as well — often tough and painful situations, but I present them as if they don’t hurt, poking fun at myself. I’m a perfectionist, but I like to have fun and I always try to make everything stimulating, from the set to the final result. Storytelling and the message are the foundation of every great project. I like to play the role of the magician,” Pelayo explains.
Alberto conceives and produces editorials and campaigns that strengthen brand identities. His work has been featured by prestigious maisons such as Versace, Mugler, Louis Vuitton, Moon Boot, Diesel, Moschino, Giannico, and Sébastien Meunier, as well as in renowned publications like Another, CAP, Numéro Berlin, Vogue Italia, i-D, Paper NY, L’Officiel Italia, Artribune, and Harper’s Bazaar Italia, among others.
