Refine the art of three-dimensional pattern making with the Moulage Course at Ferrari Fashion School in Milan, a specialist program designed for those who want to learn advanced draping techniques and sartorial pattern making directly on the mannequin.
With a total duration of 180 hours, the course is aimed at those who wish to develop technical and creative skills in the three-dimensional construction of women’s ready-to-wear and couture garments. Through a practical, workshop-based approach, students drape fabrics directly on the mannequin, creating volumes, folds, and drapes with precision and aesthetic sensitivity. The program provides complete preparation to professionally approach experimental design within the fashion sector.
The course develops specific professional skills in moulage applied to women’s pattern making, starting from basic prototypes up to complex garments with elaborate volumes and draping. Students learn to transform designs created on the mannequin into industrializable pattern pieces, gaining full control of the creative and production process.
Introduction to moulage technique, including the study of the mannequin, fabric, and volume possibilities. Creation of basic patterns such as bodice, skirt, and sleeve, laying the foundations for more complex developments.
In-depth study of draping techniques, construction of bodices with fantasy volumes, and development of sartorial details such as collars, ruffles, basques, and flounces. Study of pleats and knots to create three-dimensional effects.
From construction to industrialization, including the creation of a sheath dress in fabric and the development of a personal project, applying the techniques learned to give shape to an original creation.
Fashion Designer with extensive experience in Couture and collection development.
