Hesperia was the word used in ancient Greece to refer to the Italian peninsula as the “land of the West,” in the direction indicated by Venus, the “Star of Hope.” With this name, Ferrari Fashion School celebrates the excellence of Italian creativity, craftsmanship, and know-how.
Starting from the study of contemporary Italian fashion, which embodies the country’s rich tradition of culture and innovation, the aim is to understand and reinterpret the heritage of knowledge and technical skills with a bold and unconventional approach to design, visual communication, and fashion marketing.
The Project
Students explored ancient production processes and materials, artisanal and avant-garde practices drawn from art, architecture, and design to shape their creative vision. Designers worked with mosaics, lace, inlays, braids, appliqués, as well as carpentry techniques, metallic embroidery, and laser cuts to freely and inventively express their creative identity, promoting a responsible and circular approach through eco-design, reuse, and recycling practices.
Styling and Communication students focused on manipulation techniques typical of cinema and theater costumes to create fresh and exclusive visual narratives.
BA Fashion Business students collaborated with a leading Italian B-Corp certified cosmetics company to create marketing strategies highlighting its regenerative approach, and with the Poldi Pezzoli Museum to develop witty AI-driven social campaigns, presenting its collection of masterpieces to even very young audiences.
