026 Membrane

Ferrari Fashion School presents 026 Membrane, the yearbook that brings together a year of work, research and dialogue between different languages. A publication born from the collective contribution of the School’s students, offering a shared perspective on contemporary creativity and the Ferrari Fashion School method: a constant balance between thought, matter and the ability to create.

Membrane: A Shared Space for Creativity

The publication brings together projects created throughout the academic year by students across the School’s different courses — Fashion Design, Fashion Styling and Communication, Fashion Photography and Fashion Film, Fashion Business and Digital Marketing — alongside the Master’s in Fashion and Luxury Management. A narrative shaped by a shared journey, where each project is both an individual research process and part of a broader vision.

Membrane is first and foremost a space for experimentation: a place where students test different languages, techniques and approaches to define their creative identity. Here, fashion is not simply the final outcome, but a process shaped by study, exchange and continuous refinement.

A Collective Process, from Research to the Final Shot

026 Membrane took shape through a cross-disciplinary process, developed step by step across the School’s different courses.

At the heart of the project are the third-year Fashion Design collections and the Fashion Design and Creative Direction Master’s collections. Students explored the relationship between body, fabric and construction, experimenting with volumes, materials and artisanal techniques before dressing models in a garment from their own collection for the editorial shoots.

The project also involved the more strategic dimension of the educational journey. Students from Fashion Business and Digital Marketing contributed abstracts of their projects, while the Master’s in Fashion and Luxury Management featured extracts from students’ theses, bringing perspectives on positioning, communication and the market into the yearbook alongside its creative dimension.

On set, the process became fully collaborative: students from Fashion Styling and Communication, both at undergraduate and Master’s level, oversaw styling direction during the shoots, while students from the Master’s in Fashion Photography and Fashion Film created the editorial photography, developing a visual language capable of expressing each collection.

A method that reflects the real complexity of the fashion industry and trains students to work as a team across all the stages that transform an idea into a completed project.

Material, Identity and the Culture of Making

026 Membrane is a testament to a teaching method built on direct experience, interdisciplinary collaboration and the value of individual research. The title itself embodies this idea: a membrane as a point of contact, capable of connecting people, ideas and different languages.

Through the manipulation of fabrics, experimentation with volumes and artisanal work, the School develops an approach to fashion rooted in the encounter between intuition and technical expertise, between knowing who you are and knowing how to make.

026 Membrane tells the story of a creative community in constant evolution: a project that speaks of fashion, but also of research, design culture and the ability to build shared visions. A manifesto of how Ferrari Fashion School prepares the fashion professionals of tomorrow, with a contemporary perspective and a strong connection to the industry.
