The Knitwear for Everyone course in Milan is designed for those who wish to learn or refine knitting techniques, from basic stitches to the full creation of a knitted jumper.

Structure

Course Features

The course takes place at the Fashion Lab in Via Pestalozzi, 4, Milan, and combines theoretical and practical lessons through a step-by-step approach. Participants will learn:

  • basic knitting stitches (knit, purl, increases, decreases)
  • knowledge of materials and knitting tools
  • construction, assembly, and finishing of a knitted jumper
  • shaping and garment modelling techniques

This is a hands-on and creative experience that develops manual skills, design autonomy, and sensitivity towards textile materials. At the end of the course, a certificate of attendance is issued (minimum 8 out of 10 lessons attended), valid for 2 CFA credits.

  • Workshop: in-depth study of edges and finishing techniques (1×1 rib, 2×2 rib, moss stitch, and garter stitch)
  • Theory: types of knitted garments
  • Workshop: development of a sample swatch and fabric behaviour
  • Theory and workshop: pattern making for knitwear and casting on your own jumper
  • Theory and workshop: decreases and shaping techniques
  • Workshop: development and shaping of the knitted garment
  • Theory and demonstration: neckline variations
  • Theory and demonstration: sleeve constructions and types
  • Theory: seams, finishing techniques, washing and care of knitted garments
  • Final presentation of the completed garment and feedback session

The course is held at Ferrari Fashion School in Milan, in its two locations: Via Savona, 97 – 20144 Milan and Via Pestalozzi, 4 – 20146 Milan, within fully equipped laboratories for knitting and tailoring.

The course is designed for beginners, fashion enthusiasts, students, and professionals who wish to learn or improve their knitting techniques, making it ideal as a knitwear course in Milan or a creative workshop.
