AFTER: Ferrari Fashion School Alumni Return to Fondazione Sozzani During Milan Fashion Week

What comes AFTER Fashion School?

On Friday, September 25, during Milan Fashion Week Women’s Spring/Summer 2027, Ferrari Fashion School returns to Fondazione Sozzani with AFTER, a project dedicated to its Alumni and everything they’ve built since graduating.

Independent labels, capsule collections, and experimental projects tell stories of different paths, all connected by a common drive: to keep building a real career in fashion. AFTER was created to give these designers room to grow and, above all, to build genuine connections with buyers, press, and industry professionals.

What happens to a collection, a research line, or a concept once school is over? How can it keep evolving, reaching an audience, and finding the financial grounding it needs to expand?

What comes after fashion school? That’s the question behind AFTER.

Graduation Is Just the Starting Line

For a young designer, developing a distinct creative voice is only part of the journey. Beyond school, you have to find the resources to keep experimenting and producing, build professional relationships, face the market, and decide what shape your project should take.

No two paths look the same. Some Alumni have launched their own brands, others are working on capsule collections or independent projects, and others are exploring the space between research, product design, and new collaborations. AFTER aims to showcase this exact diversity.

This initiative continues the support Ferrari Fashion School offers through Industry Relations and Career Services—staying close to its Alumni and opening up new doors to the industry long after graduation.

The Alumni on Show

On September 25, thirteen designers will present their work at Fondazione Sozzani: Leonardo Donati, Alessia Bortoli, Sara Breviglieri, Noé Bozzini, Giorgia Zuccon, Giuseppe Falcone, Jessica Molino, Ruslan Iemmi, Luna Fantechi, Diego Tontini, and Raffaella Vicino.

Their journeys vary—some have already launched a label, others are working on capsule collections, others move between research and experimentation—yet they all share one clear goal: carrying a personal fashion project forward beyond school.

From Exposure to Commercial Viability

Choosing to host AFTER during Milan Fashion Week comes down to timing and access: bringing international buyers, showrooms, press, companies, and global industry leaders together in the same city at the exact same moment.

But exposure alone isn’t enough.

The real goal is making these collections purchasable, turning professional or commercial interest into tangible opportunities. That’s why the showcased looks are chosen with practical production in mind, making sure designers can actually manufacture them if orders come through.

For an emerging designer, economic viability is essential to staying creative. Producing a new collection, collaborating with artisans and suppliers, investing in research, or building a brand requires resources. Creating settings where creative work can meet the market directly supports the longevity of the project itself. This is where education and industry need to keep working together: supporting talent means helping build the foundation for it to last.

AFTER at Fondazione Sozzani

For Ferrari Fashion School, Fondazione Sozzani is already a key meeting place for education and industry. In 2025, it hosted LIVING MATTER/s, the School’s annual Fashion Show and Showcase, presenting work students had developed throughout the academic year. Returning with AFTER creates a natural continuity. If the focus back then was on what happens during studies, today the spotlight shifts intentionally to what comes after.

The choice of location carries real weight given Carla Sozzani and Sara Sozzani Maino’s long-standing work in supporting new creative generations. Carla Sozzani’s tradition of discovering and promoting new talent is paired with the experience of Sara Sozzani Maino, now Creative Director of Fondazione Sozzani and an international figurehead in talent scouting.

It’s an ongoing commitment that lives on through the Fondazione’s activities, offering mentorship, tailored programs, and visibility to independent designers and creatives.

There Is No Single AFTER

There isn’t just one direction after fashion school.

It could mean launching a brand, dropping a capsule, starting a partnership, an experimental project, or a research path that keeps shifting. What ties these paths together is the need to be seen, get feedback from other professionals, and test ideas beyond the academic world.

AFTER was built to create one of those moments.

On September 25 at Fondazione Sozzani, Alumni projects connect once again with the city and the industry during Milan Fashion Week. With one crucial addition: what is presented isn’t just for display—it can be selected, ordered, and purchased, making a real contribution to the ongoing journey of the person who created it.
