Ferrari Fashion School has developed a collaboration with Kayros Music, a label that uses music as a tool for self-expression and personal growth for young artists coming from challenging backgrounds.
The collaboration began during Fuori-Sanremo, through the loan of a series of outfits designed by students from the Bachelor in Fashion Design at Ferrari Fashion School in collaboration with the textile company Brunello. The looks were worn by the artists during events connected to the festival.
That initial experience has now evolved into a new project work involving students from the Bachelor programme in Fashion Styling and Communication, who are currently engaged in a deeper process of research, customization, and image development for the label’s artists.
Building a Visual Identity Through Styling
The project introduces students to one of the key dimensions of contemporary styling: translating an artist’s personality, musical language, and stage presence into a distinctive and coherent visual identity.
Through direct exchanges with the artists of Kayros Music, students are developing tailor-made styling proposals designed for different contexts, including live performances, editorial shootings, and social media content. Particular attention is being given to customization: the looks are not simply selected, but adapted, altered, and constructed around the physical and expressive characteristics of each artist, with the aim of strengthening both stage presence and recognizability. In this context, styling becomes a highly personal design process, positioned somewhere between creative direction, fashion research, and image construction.
A Learning Experience Embedded in the Creative Industry
Through this project work, students experience a hands-on approach closely connected to the professional dynamics of contemporary fashion styling, engaging with creative direction, visual research, and the development of visual storytelling for emerging artists.
At the same time, the collaboration also opens up a broader reflection on the role of fashion as a cultural and relational language: not merely an aesthetic exercise, but a tool capable of supporting self-representation, individuality, and different ways of expressing identity.
A Multidisciplinary Project Connecting Fashion, Music, and Image-Making
The collaboration will culminate in a final photoshoot dedicated to the artists of Kayros Music, produced by students from the Master in Fashion Photography and Fashion Film, who will create the visual and editorial content intended for music promotion and the artists’ social media platforms. A multidisciplinary project that brings together fashion, music, image-making, and education, transforming the collaboration into a concrete experience of creative experimentation and interdisciplinary practice.
